Here is my issue, not sure if I have a hardware problem or a software problem:

I have recently made some changes to my 2013 CC with VCDS (including changing the country code, used to change the 'ding' tone in the vehicle as well as some other things). The car now gives me the error "FAULT: TIRE MONITORING CURRENTLY NOT AVAILABLE". When I try to store the tire pressures, it indicates "Tire pressures could not be stored".
The tire light flashes for several seconds and then stays on. Tire pressures have all been checked and double checked.

I have reset my car to it's original values in VCDS and am still getting the light and error.

The error is in the ABS module, as i understand this is where the TMPS is stored in the vehicle

Dumb question!!! but have to ask... did you push your TPMS set button? button in glove compartment or reset the tpms through the MFI in the instrument cluster!

do you have to drive around, some reset on wheel speed??

Inflate all tires to pressure listed on tire placard.
Drive vehicle above 16mph to register sensor IDs.
A malfunction with the vehicle’s TPMS tire pressure monitor system will flash the warning light ON for one second and OFF for three seconds. If the TPMS tire pressure monitor system light is flashing, it will need to be reset or repaired to turn the light off. If the TPMS light comes ON and stays ON, this means that one or more of your tires may have a low-pressure condition. Inspect all of your tires and check the air pressure. The correct air pressure for your vehicle can be found on the vehicle placard, usually located on the inside door panel.

Not a dumb question,

When I try to reset on the dash it says " cannot store values" . All pressures are double checked, Driving around doesn't seem to improve things.

When I start the car I get the error "fault: tire monitoring not available", light flashes for 5-10 sec and then stays solid

Looks like it is in your coding for [09].

2010 and newer vehicles equipped with the (BCM) 09-Cent. Elect. module have a different coding chart. These models include the Jetta, Golf, Tiguan and Eos and use Long Coding. I did review

but it didn't have much that really helped,

I did reset the [09] BCM, but that did not seem to make any difference.

I took a look at :

and I was wondering about the CAN gateway, but my car doesn't seem to have the same options in it -
Tomorrow I will have to take another look. This one might lead somewhere.

I'll also be driving a couple of hours in the car tomorrow, so we will see if that changes anything.

The spare tire shouldn't matter [correct me if I'm wrong] but its the indirect system, so data is only collected through
the ABS.....

Hopefully I"ll get a chance this weekend to poke around more!

Not sure, maybe someone can verify this. you have your TPMS enabled through [4C]. Have you tried enabling TPMS through Address 65: Tire Pressure (J502) and disable [4C] because it obviously can't be reached there. If it is [4C] then either your coding changes on [19] are wrong or module is fried or wiring issues. see WD trace and test all.

and the guy posted his solution! but unlike you he had a faulty for the sensor.

i would still think its bad coding somewhere!

Go through 17-Instruments, 19-CAN Gateway and 03-ABS long coding. Make sure you have TPMS checked in each module

I went through my codinglog and reverted eveything i could find back to its original values, no difference.
The TPMS is not shown in either the 19-Can Gateway or the 03-ABS, but does appear in the 17-insturments and 46-Central Conv.
There, I disabled, restarted the car, and re-enabled it - but still the same errors.
