Golf 7 electric folding mirrors

Hi folks

I recently purchased a new Golf 7 which unfortunately was delivered without electric folding mirrors.

These have now been retrofitted and operate OK using the door panel, but will not operate using the key fob.

Any help would be appreciated

I (sadly) don't have folding mirrors on my mk7, but here are the BCM adaptation channel settings from a car that does have folding mirrors from my database -hope they help:

I have tried the following gleaned from another forum:-

VCDS:
Choose "Select control Module"

[09] Central Electronics
[16] Security Access - Code is 31347, click "Do it!"
[10] Adaptation, choose from the drop down channel
[23] - Access control 2 - Funk Spiegelanklappen change to "active", click do it
[26] - Access control 2 - Menuesteuerung Funkspiegelanklappen change to “active”
[24] - Access control 2 - Funk Spiegelanklappung Modus change to “by look command via remote control key”

In the car:
In the Media display
Click "Car"
"Setup"
"Mirrors & Wipers", select the option for “Fold away after parking.”

However 23 and 26 refuse the active setting and show error whilst there is no "Fold away after parking" option in the media display

The door controllers have been updated

Hi I've been trying to help fred get to the bottom of this with VCDS and followed adaptation and coding instructions fine, I'm wondering if it is possible that the central convienece module may be a medium or low line unit and do we have to upgrade it to a highline spec or for example one used in the GTI models?

vw technik estepona: Good morning. I was hoping that Fred's issue could be solved through a simple change to adaptation settings, but I suspect that you could be correct. If you look at my BCM compare spread-sheet (the database where I extracted the table in my first post) HERE. you will find the cars in columns V,W,X,Y,Z and AA all have folding mirrors (see the settings for row ID #69. They also all have the BCM MQBAB H designation (at the top of each column). Fred's observations supports your hypothesis (alas)

I need a price and exact part number realisticly for the central convienience module for Fred's car.
also I can imagine it's going to be a pig to re code everything to a brand new unit so I suspect a second hand unit would be the way forward as it'll most likely be coded to the nines and just tweeking will be required.. plus a lot cheaper! iDEAs on a POSTCARD greatly appreciated

vw technik estepona: Notwithstanding Fred's observations (and my spreadsheet) retro fitting folding mirrors on a mk7 is not an uncommon project and there are lots of forum posts on the web regarding this topic. If successful implementation (using the keyfob) relies on the presence of the high level BCM, it's odd that there isn't more written about this restriction (I think).

So if the hypothesis about needing a high level BCM to change the settings on (23) and (26) is correct, then I should get the same results as Fred when I try to alter these adaptation channels. Guess what happened?

So- I suspect that the mid level BCM on Fred's car isn't the culprit! Question is: why can't Fred alter the settings on his BCM? Perhaps a look at the Codinglog.txt file might be illuminating (although if changes were made to the BCM by both Fred and vw technik, making sense of the file could get tricky)

When you access this module do you have to enter any security access codes?

I will have to check with vw technik estepona: but I think we may have missed out this step as I believe we were given access without it.

Maybe that is why it will not accept new coding?

UPDATE

Today I found time to return to Estepona where we went through the programming again checking out the door modules and the BCM and now everything is functioning OK

hello to all experts,
I need your help.
I have a golf 7 gti performance end of 2013 and I have the mirror pack.
Unfortunately, the first golf 7 produced has the mirror pack that works this way:

-closing mirrors by auto locking with remote control
-automatic opening only when power is switched on

I would also like to have the mirror of the mirrors with the key ... but I have never succeeded since the various settings checked with the vag are correct.

Does anyone have any more information ???

This depends on the door ECUs and the only solution is swapping them to another model year.
