Passenger side mirror dipping with reversing

    From http://a6retrofit.tripod.com/articles/a5vagcodes.html

Enabling reverse mirror tilt on cars without memory seats: Go to module 52 Door Elect, Pass., Long Coding, Byte 4. If the byte has value 40 (cars without electrically folding mirrors), change it to 4C. If the byte has value 50 (cars with folding or folding/dimming mirrors), change it to 5C. Afterwards when reversing and the mirror knob is in passenger position the passenger side mirror will tilt while on reverse to better show the curb. Without memory seats it is currently not known if the tilt can be adjusted, it seems to default to a standard amount according to reports (see links below, thanks to EuroDan and Unisurfer). It was reported by -V- (here in Finnish: http://www.ultimatevw.com/keskustelu...10753&sivu=185) that 4C won't work in some cars, but value 44 instead does. This probably has to do with equipment levels. Ross-Tech has updated their VCDS/VAG-COM software data to include relevant bits with descriptions, so you can more easily try different combinations.

This is a well documented tweak for B8 but has been typically reported as not remembering the starting position for the mirror. For my 2014 A4 the starting position is definitely remembered (verified with several different starting positions). Not sure if this is a different module for the newer A4.

Dana, let me know if you'd like a .lbl file for the passenger side door. The current scan from the last autoscan (before I changed the coding ) is blelow

    Code:
    -------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Address 52: Door Elect, Pass. (J387) Labels: 8K0-959-792.clb
       Part No SW: 8T0 959 792 P HW: 8T0 959 792 G
       Component: TSG BF H09 0305
       Revision: -------- Serial number: --------------
       Coding: 011C03204000410001

    Shawn ,

We shouldn't need a map set from those door modules because that coding chart appears to be complete but please let us know if that works in this car. My B8 page is pretty limited.

    Igor,
That won't work on a Golf based car like yours.

A Superb is a whole lot closer to a Golf than a B8 Audi is!

The OP owns a B8 platform Audi and his scan clip, link and references point to A5/A4 B8/Q5, many for A6/A8/Q7
