Good evening,

I've mounted my new snow tyres to my NAR 2012 VW CC Sport. The TPMS sensors in these wheels (as I subsequently discovered) are of the 315 MHz variety, but my TPMS module (65) uses the newer 433 MHz sensors.

Rather than disabling TPMS entirely, I was hoping to use Indirect TPMS via the ABS module for the winter. There were coding instructions in a hover-over in VCDS that said to add 1024 to the ABS coding, but that resulted in an "out of range" error. I then found coding instructions online (though for different models) that indicate that +2048 is the way to go. This coding was accepted, but I don't have channel 042 available, and that tells me that +2048 didn't work. Incidentally, +2048 was only accepted after I activated TPMS II (4C) in the gateway.

My autoscan is below. I'd love to make this work if at all possible, and pick up another set of 433 MHz sensors for next season.

Thanks for the reply, Dave. The coding that I had was 000399, and I didn't see anything in the long coding helper that resembled the B6 instructions.

Being a 2012, my CC is a B7 electrically (3AA ABS controller). Perhaps it isn't fully mapped by Ross-Tech?

Interesting. Did Basic Setting group 042 happen to become available after a short test drive or locking the car doors (10 min) so the CAN controllers go to sleep and refresh when waking up? If you were reluctant to drive it with experimental coding I don't blame you - but I'd like to know if the CAN nap helped.

Either way, I don't think you can have virtual address 4C-Tire Pressure II enabled with a real 65-Tire Pressure module online at the same time. I don't know if this ABS controller even supports Indirect TPMS bit I would be tempted to take 65 offline. Pull a fuse or just unplug the controller followed by a CAN Nap (if needed) and checking into the ABS controller Basic Setting 042 status couldn't hurt IMO.

P.S. I realize this is temporary and you plan on getting the proper sensors next winter but TPMS is a Federal requirement in the US. I need to tread lightly with the step-by-step instructions but any feedback you have would be excellent.

My nest step is to determine where the controller is (so I can unplug it) or determine which fuse goes to it, and give your second recommendation a try.

This isn't the world's greatest ABS controller. I resent that it is incapable of XDS, so perhaps I'll try to find a higher line version. Besides, I will eventually want to install ACC, so it's just a matter of time anyways.
