All three boosters landed!

From about 75 miles north, Oly OM-D EM-5, with 40-150 (300mm eqiv). These are 1:1 crops:

Word is the center core tipped over in rough seas  but they've still got hold of it, either floating or laying flat on the barge, unclear right now. But hey, the system works.

Looking forward to find out why the octograbber didn't have it locked down. I've seen an allegation that it can't grab onto a FH center core, and I could believe the fittings underneath would be different...

Sometimes the simplest solutions are the best. What's wrong with just boarding the barge and welding that sucker down as soon as the deck is cool enough to work on? Maybe not directly, but with some kind of clamps?

Very nice view of the booster landing from last night's CRS-17 mission on the drone ship starting at about 22:30 here:

I like this pic of the third Falcon Heavy on the pad yesterday:

SpaceX apparently wants everyone to know that those side boosters are "flight proven". Wash them? Give them a fresh coat of paint? Nope. Just fly 'em again!

Sadly, they failed to recover the brand-new looking center booster.

They've landed boosters over 50 times now, but at least to me, it just doesn't get old, especially when they put it right in the 10-ring:

Today's ANASIS-II Mission.
Launch at 14:50 into the video.
Some gorgeous views of the earth after stage separation.
Unfortunately they lost the feed from the booster before the landing burn started,
but the camera on the done ship caught the landing:

So today, SpaceX was going to launch TWO Falcon 9s from the Cape.

This morning's launch was scrubbed due to weather.

This evening's launch was into a polar orbit. Normally launches to polar orbits are done from Vandenberg Airforce Base on the coast of California, because unlike certain other countries, the USA doesn't like to launch rockets on trajectories that take them over populated areas. If something goes wrong during a launch, we'd rather risk the lives of fish in the ocean than people on the ground. Much to my surprise, the trajectory of evening's launch was over some pretty heavily populated areas of Florida:

They also brought the booster back and landed it safely at LZ1:

This morning's launch and landing back at LZ1 produced some really nice footage:

SN9 Test Flight just now. Ask any pilot: Flying is easy; landing is hard.

I did a screen-grab from another stream a bit before launch:

This pic could be straight out of a 1950s Sci-Fi movie.
