A few problems to resolve
I've got a few unresolved (persistent) faults being reported, since my engine re-installation.
Acc/Start Auth, 01049, Supply Voltage Term 50
Central Conv. 01134 Alarm Horn Electrical Fault in Circuit
Telephone, Control Module Not Coded
<solved> [strike]First, the Telephone Module: I can't seem to get it to take a code. It's a replacement Bluetooth unit under the seat, supposedly new. Based on what the 'helper' says, it should take 0020202, but it claims it is out of range.[/strike]
The Alarm horn seems to work OK - at least if it is the same horn that beeps when you lock the doors.
No idea on the 01049. Clear it, it comes right back.
There's also something about the immobilizer, but it doesn't appear in the logs, other than
'25-Immobilizer -- Status: Malfunction 0010'
Any ideas on where to start?

Check your ignition switch please.......for Terminal 50 proper function and good visual inspection.
Verify horn circuit via wire diagram and component.
Did you read out the phone module coding of old unit? Can you?

I'll look at ignition switch and horn circuit, thanks. (alarm horn beeps, so maybe just wiggling the connector will help). For the ignition switch: Can I 'assume' that you are writing of the switch that the key physically goes into? Or something else? If my car were in your shop, what would you put the multimeter on first?
As to the phone module: Old one died, as they seem prone to do, and I don't have the coding for it. <sigh> Such is life, I suppose. Are the other fields mandatory? (Workshop, etc)
Jack, it is obvious that you spend a great deal of time helping others. Thank you. I hope to have the occasion to be in your area some time, and buy you a cold (beer, soda, whatever your preference).

Yes, you would think the last digit should be 2, it's not.
Language is handled by 07 on this vehicle.
Restart MMI after coding 77.

Great, that worked. Of course, now my phone won't connect, but that's a separate issue. (It worked a year ago, lol, before I pulled the engine to do the timing chain guides and tensioners).
One down, two to go.

I would watch supply voltage values in VCDS with the ignition on after 10 minutes to see if battery is flaky first.
Visual inspections for damage/corrosion along with meter at main key switch first to steering module and than to BCM.
I do spend a great deal of my time...... helping others, because I really have always enjoyed it..... I am also in the business and others....its a balancing act for sure.
This site is by far the best I have seen so far....... weeding out mostly idiots/thieves........ where I don't have to worry about if I am helping a bad person stealing, from who I consider a valuable resource and friends in the industry.
Helping many over the years has not been without consequences......forcing me to hide behind email, not talking on phone, and a constant locked door/gate by appointment only.
You would not believe the amounts of money lost to change a light bulb for someone....... NC no doubt, or be disrupted by people which are so rude.
They expect I stop what I am doing to hear their mouth........ to only argue after actually getting the answer. ( oh face palms )
Here I answer what I want when I want, and the appreciation is nice Thank you.....
At least I am not forced to advertise as in Vortex to give things away......then get hammered for it even after paying for a stupid banner ad.
If you know someone who needs programming/keys or an ecu new/reman/data transfers....... etc.
Example: I more than likely if the coding was not able to be had from that module .......I could get it if RT didn't have it through forensic extraction.

Glad it worked.
Try clearing all recents on phone, remove connections via MMI.
You only have a short period after ignition on where you can pair with vehicle.
BT pin is adaptation channel 10 on 77.

I'll give it a try immediately after ignition on. At the moment, my iPhone isn't even seeing it, which I find odd. Knowing how delicate the Audi BT interface is, it wouldn't surprise me if it went belly-up just from sitting for a year.

So, I looked at the measurement values for terminal 50, and it simply said 'OFF'. The bentley is unclear as to the physical connection for that, else I'd just physically check it. B276, Plus Connection (50) (in main wiring harness). Component location section is unhelpful, doesn't point to B276 or 'Terminal 50'. Gotta love it.

BCM.
If you know someone who needs programming/keys or an
ecu new/reman/data transfers....... etc.
Example: I more than likely if the coding was not able to be had from that module .......I could get it if RT didn't have it through forensic extraction.

Bluetooth module seems to be malfunctioning, although no codes set. I tried various phones, none see the module to pair with it.
As to the terminal 50 thing: wiring diagram shows that the current flow goes through access start control module (J518), Engine harness D97 to starter, Starter relay. The car starts just fine. Maybe I've got another ground loose somewhere, and it is manifesting itself via the 01049 code.
