Are 4 addresses all that are supposed to be checked for 2000 Eurovan (T4) Auto-Scan?

I am using an iPad with a Pro Activated HEX-NET on a 2000 Eurovan. When performing an "Auto-Scan", I manually selected chassis type 7D, although the VIN# has 70 in the correct part of the sequence.

Addresses 01 02 03 08 15 17 18 19 22 25 35 37 56 are shown to be scanned and appear to be looked at during the scan; however, only 01 02 03 17 show in the results, all with no fault codes found.

I'm not sure if those are the only ones that are possible to scan, or should they all be?

The list of addresses that it will try is the list of all diagnostic-capable modules that are known to have been installed in any vehicle of that chassis type. No one vehicle is likely to have them all. That said, it seems your results are missing a few that we would expect to be there in a US-Market 2000 Eurovan, for example 15-Airbags and 35-Central Locks, as well as 56-Radio (assuming the stock radio is still there and still works). Are there known issues with the missing systems? Do the locks and power windows work? Is the airbag light on? I'm asking these questions to confirm that the modules in question are operational rather that totally off-line and uncommunicative.

Thanks for the quick response Uwe. The locks and power windows work. The radio is after market. I didn't notice the airbag light come on during the scan, but I wasn't paying close attention. I will re-run the scan and pay attention to the lights.

Is there any way to determine which modules are diagnostic-capable? Since 2000 was the last year of the 7D chassis, one would think it would have many of them.

Looks like I'm going to need that multimeter I've been eyeing.

What happens if you try to access 15-Airbags or 35-Central Locks individually?

When accessing 15-airbags the airbag light turns on and stays on. (That light does turn on briefly when the ignition is turned on each time.) I then get an error code:

1 Fault Found:
00532 - Supply Voltage B+
07-10 - Signal too Low - Intermittent

When accessing 35-Central Locking I get the exact same error code as above.

Also, for what it may be worth, the OBD2 connector has a space or crack in the right top of the pin #5 hole (signal ground) and the entire connector is somewhat loose when pushed around.

Edit: Upon further research, it looks like that space in the pin #5 hole is normal and isn't a crack.

Oops. My mistake. 2000 was the last year of the AES 12 valve VR6 engine, not of the 7D chassis.

OK, so you're saying you can access both of 15-Airbags and 35-Central locks individually?

As for the Supply Voltage Low code: This could be a weak battery, or an electrical connecting getting a bit dodgy. Try with the engine running, or a battery charger connected. Go in, clear the fault, get back out. Go back in. My guess is you won't have that fault code.

Yes, I accessed both of them individually. Neither showed up in Auto-Scan.

My battery is is just a couple of months old, but it has been cold here and I don't drive the Eurovan much in the winter.

I will make sure it is fully charged and running, clear the two faults and go back in rescan both when I get the van back home tomorrow.

Thanks once again.

Please update to version 0.4010, just released. Then try autoscan again.

Updated yesterday and ran AutoScan again today, once with engine running and again with engine not running. Same results with only 1,2,3 and 17 showing up both times.

JimG, can you please try to make a debug log of this happening?

The directions to do so are as follows:
1. Go to "View Saved Files" Make sure there is no existing debuglog.edl file. Delete any debuglog.edl that is there.
2. Go to options page, enter debug level 001f and submit
3. Do an autoscan
4. When complete, make sure that the HEX-NET can connect to the internet. Take is somewhere where it can connect to infrastructure if necessary. Go to "view saved files" and make sure the debuglog.edl is uploaded to the cloud server.

Thanks,
--Shaun

I uploaded the debuglog.edl as far as I can tell.

Thanks

Thank you for taking the time to upload a debug log.

V0.4012 has been released. Please update to that and see if it helps with this issue.

Best,

Well, some progress! It's now reporting the Airbag Address on the Autoscan whereas it was formerly only reporting it when I asked for that individual address. Note that this latest AutoScan did not pick up Address 35 - Central Locking, which also showed up when scanned individually.

Edit: I just remembered that I've never cleared the Address 25 fault code from the time I scanned it individually. Perhaps it is actually OK now and this reported fault is residual. I will clear all codes tomorrow and rerun the AutoScan.

It seems odd that I'm getting consistent scans on 4 modules, but little or no communication with other modules that should be reporting. I'm wondering if my problem is with Hex-Net or with the OBS-2 system in the vehicle? What is Ross-Tech's take on this given the debug log I uploaded?

We think it's probably the HEX-NET needing more tweaking.

Update. I was able to erase the 15 - Airbags fault codes and then did a new Auto-Scan. Success! Now the Auto-Scan shows 15 clear of any fault codes!
