Hey folks, I'm kind of stumped. A friends 2010 New Beetle had the CEL come on, it went off shortly after and has since returned. I scanned the car just now, and don't see any fault codes at all.

Can someone shed some light, or point me towords what I should look at next?

Thanks!
-Mike

Engine is conspicuously missing from that scan.

Is the car a manual or an automatic?

Car is an auto, key is in and on. I hadn't thought to check fuses or relays. Is there a specific one I should check first?

Another possibility is that the HEX-NET woke up on the wrong side of the bed.

Anyway, a check-engine light can be turned on by either the Engine or the Tranny, and neither are showing up there. I'd run another scan, and if they still don't show up, but the car starts and runs, try accessing 01-Engine and 02-Trans individually.
