"As soon as you start the car it works perfect. How would I know for sure that that is the problem? "

Please get the MWB's while driving with CCS "on" . But do this with a passenger on the rear seat:cool:

I checked the clutch pedal while driving. Someone else was driving, and I was running VCDS. The clutch switch works perfect.

I figured it out. I was looking at the cruise on our other two cars again and noticed the cancel switch works opposite of what you would think it does. Normally in measuring blocks, the numbers are all zeros until the switch is activated then they turn to a one. On the cancel switch, the number is supposed to be a one and turn into a zero when the switch is activated. So looks like I need a cruise control stalk. I will post back when I change it.

It is a violation of diagnostic path commandment 5, to use an improper config to compare your neighbor and covenant thy functions block values.

By the power of the Benevolent Dictator decreed upon me, under oath vicariously....... the RT Holy Ghost Spirit speaks through me.

The Church of RT forgives your diagnostic path sins......by 0x01-05-02 because this function clears all DTC sins........

Please preform 10 auto-scans, and log all 255 DEC blocks in the 0x01-08-0>255 one time, while referencing the repair manual out loud for each documented block value.

:p

All the other cars I tested had only one stalk for the turn signals and cruise control.
This 2006 Jetta has two stalks, one for cruise and one for turn signals.
Do you think that this cars measuring values worked differently when it was new?

Field 4 Data
0 0 0 0 0 0 1 1

0 = CCS Switched Off 1 = CCS Switched On
0 = Cancel/Off Activated 1 = CCS Switched On
0 = SET/ Decel. Not Pressed 1 = SET/ Decel. Button Pressed
0 = Resume/Accel Not Pressed 1 = Resume/Accel Button Pressed
N/A N/A
N/A N/A
N/A N/A
N/A N/A

This is from Ross Tech

xxxxxxx1-Stuck ON
xxxxxx1x-Pressed OFF
xxxxx1xx-Decelerate (-)
xxxx1xxx-Accelerate (+)
xxx1xxxx-Set (SET)
xx1xxxxx-Resume (RESET)
1xxxxxxx-Stuck ON (Hardware)

This is what VCDS says in the car control module.

When you switch cruise on in the car, this is what it reads
10000001

Is it safe to say the switch is bad?
Is it supposed to read like this?
00000011

Respectfully, how does the switch preform when testing based on the WD, and a proper meter or load light used; to verify ability to carry current, while being isolated from controller?

Have you violated commandment 1 by not inspecting/testing all fuses?

I have not tested the switch based on a wiring diagram.
I did check all the fuses under the hood and in the side panel.

What is so hard about checking the switch with a meter or test light?

The reason it is a little hard, is because I don't actually have the car here at this moment. I have alot of VCDS logs and pictures of measuring blocks.

VCDS and OBD testing is a guide.
Data should be checked against actual tests as per the repair manual.

Especially when you question results of tests, and don't know what is what in the OBD tests.

You are right. I will try to check it. I have the Bentley manual, so that should help.

Well I replaced the switch with a used one. Every value in vcds is exactly the same. And the cruise does not work.
Anyone have any other ideas?

Did you test the used switches function with a meter and or load test the tracks?
