Hi,

bought a used Audi A3 8P (2005). And when trying to scan module 09 there is some issues. Have a look at the two autoscans below. The FIRST is scanned with my HEX-CAN interface (serial interface with the white USB - Serial adapter bought from RT). The second one is with HEX-NET interface WITH USB cable (same result with WiFi scan, but there is still some bugs with scan of some modules, on this car the autoscan stops on module 09 with WiFi connection).

Try increasing Net Timeout in the options screen.

Default is 200, try increasing to 300

Hmm, doubt that's going to help over USB. Instead can you set Debug Level to 1024, Save, and without closing VCDS, do the autoscan with the hexnet? Quit VCDS, move the autoscan AND the debug files generated in the debug subfolder into an archive. Restart VCDS and do the same (1024, save, autoscan) with the HEX-USB+CAN, and send us both archives. If you're able, make sure the files on the HEX-NET are all uploaded to cloud as well afterwards (via VCDS-Mobile).

The "Net timeout" field is not even there when I am running USB.

I have sent the requested logs and files to support.

Thank you very much. After looking at both debugs for 09, I think I know what's confusing the HEX-NET. We'll see if Shaun can work on a fix Monday :)

Shaun must be too timid to post, but we have a new alpha codeblock with a fix for your issue. I put you on the alpha channel, so your hexnet should offer you to download a couple updates next time you use vcds-mobile in infrastructure mode. Let us know if that fixes your issue! :)

Hmm, looks like the fix didn't work, same behavior as before. I can see you updated your codeblock. The debug 1024 from VCDS should have made the hexnet generate some debug files as well. Can you make sure you upload all your hexnet files to cloud so Shaun will be able to look at the debugs on his side? Thank you :)

Hmm, how do I upload hexnet files to cloud ? I am using the hex-net with my microsoft tablet, and using wifi (or usb). I normally do not use the hex-net with iPhones etc.

Open a web browser and enter your HEX-NET IP number. It should bring up a login page. Enter the password: password

In the VCDS-Mobile main screen click on "View Saved Files"

Locate the Debuglog.edl file, to the right there is an options link. Click options and select upload.

Hmmmmm, I have tried. First of all, where the car is parked is limited wifi connection, which makes using the hex-net in infrastructure mode painful and slow. But I figured out that the files is probably saved in the interface, so I could just disconnect from the car and go inside to upload. I am using the VCDS app on iPad mini 2, and its stuck on "Uploading". Has been uploading for 5-6 min. now, and still says uploading ? The file is 1.1MB. There are debuglog-xx.edl files also, aprox. 30 of them. Are they deleted after a while, or do I need to delete them manually ?

You can definitely use your computer browser to access your hexnet in infrastructure mode (should be easier than doing it on a tablet), and as you suggested, you don't have to be connected to a car. I don't think the .edl files go away by themselves, but on the other hand there's plenty of space on the internal 2GB memory.

I had to use the "back" button. And when I log in again it says the file is uploaded, so I guess its ok even if it did not look like it was correctly uploaded ?

Unfortunately that file is too big for the server to accept, it could be a bunch of traffic is getting spamed on the bus. Can you go to "view saved files" from a browser on a pc, go to the debug log (most recent has the highest number) and the click "options" -> "view".
This should ask you to save the file to your PC, which you can then attach in an email to us.
