Hello,
2010 Jetta 2.5 Auto. Owner said the battery was dead so they jumped the car. After jump starting, power steering no longer worked. See below 02614 Steering Box Failure. Fuses appear to be good. Before diagnosing the problem as a defective power steering module/rack I want to rule out all possibilities of a simpler fix. I noticed that in Group 2 the relay voltage is only .75v, I think it was in block #1. I have another Jetta at the shop and the group 2 shows something like 13.7v. Is there a relay associated with the power steering? Also my group #4 shows no values only an error and I'm not getting a reading from the G269 torque sensor. The steering angle sensor works but that's about it. How common are steering rack failures? Any advice appreciated.
