01314 - Engine Control Module - No Communication

Hi everyone, having a problem with my 2006 Passat 3.6L, I had finished taking the kids to school, came back home all normal. I then came back to drive to work and the car would not start. It cranks, but no start, I hear 3 long beeps and the brake light is flashing on the cluster. Below is a VCDS Scan I did.

What I have done so far is charge the battery, replace the battery, check all fuses, although I'm not sure how to test or see if the grey square fuses inside engine bay are bad, based on the code, I took out the ECU, smelled it to see if I can tell if it is burned or something, looks good, I also looked are the harness going to it, looks clean and normal.

What else can I do troubleshoot these issues? I have tried to clear all codes and start the car and get nothing. I feel the issue is related to the three long beeps and brake light flashing, although the electronic brake is not engaged at all, I rarely use it. Any help is appreciated!

ECU is clearly off-line. Question is whether this is due to an internal issue with the ECU or perhaps something like missing power to one of the pins on the ECU that requires it. ECUs tend to be expensive, so I'd suggest checking power and ground connections at the ECU's harness first.

Don't forget the fuses.........ignition switch, or terminal 15 and 30 relays.

This ecu should be 03H-906-032 series.......

I see low voltage in the BCM 0x09........... so first and foremost make sure the battery isn't too weak by charging or replacement.

The ECU was taken out of the housing, we found that the pin that controls getting power from the relay or gives power (not sure, looked very technical) was out, the technician fixed it, once plugged back in, before starting car, power to the ECU and relay was checked, looked okay, and the car started right away. it is mean that this DTC is happen because of problems with Engine module? And until i won't fix problems in Engine ECU this DTC will be in instrumental panel. Am i right or not?

Yes, that is correct. Instrument cluster is aware that ECU is unhappy, and sets this fault code out of sympathy.

I see. Thank you. It is my colleague's car. He changed pressure valve on new one but it didn't help. I told him that first he should check wires and when he understand that it is ok change parts. Anyhow thank's again.

may be it would help to someone. The reason of low pressure was pump's belt. It was corrupted and in result pump couldn't give required pressure.
