Hi all,
I have a 2011 UK Jetta Sedan 2.0 TDI 140PS. 'Type' is listed in the service schedule as 162372.
I recently fitted front fog lights, only to discover my 5K0 937 084-F BCM didn't have the pins for the left and right fog. I then purchased a brand new 1K0 937 087-AN BCM and fitted this. I also bought a rain light sensor to fit.
I fitted the BCM and the RLS and some new wires into the new BCM as follows:
Pin A21 - Front Fog Signal from euro switch
Pin A25 - Power for Left Fog
Pin C25 - Power for Right Fog
Pin B33 - Pin 3 from RLS ***Note, there was no existing cable in this pin!
After I fitted the BCM, I noticed a few problems with lighting etc, but I got these sorted after a while and a lot of help from a friend who knows a lot more about VCDS than me. My one major remaining issue has him stumped, so I'm looking for some help here. The RLS is registering light and rain in the measuring blocks when I experiment with water and cover the sensor with my hand, so I know its connected properly. It is now available as a dropdown subsystem of the main BCM in the VCDS coding window, so all looks ok. The rain closing feature also works, but I haven't got playing with the auto wipers yet because of my problem, which I will explain below:
My problem is with the wipers behaving strangely. They were like this after I installed the BCM and before I installed the RLS, so don't think it's the cause. When I run an autoscan, there is a "Windshield Wiper Stop Switch (F229) Implausible Signal" fault. How this appears is, when I switch on the car with the wiper stalk in the off position, the wipers do several sweeps and stop in a random place. I have to gently jab the down (one wipe) option on the wiper stalk to try and coax the wipers home to the correct position, which can take a few minutes and is very annoying! Before I changed the BCM, in the coding window I had a dropdown menu with "DWA Sensor" and "LIN Backup" available for coding, in addition to the main BCM. Now I only have main BCM and RLS. The other two don't appear on the dropdown menu, even though they appear in the autoscan. My friend thinks there is something not right with the LINBUS system if they aren't displayed on the dropdown, so this is causing the system not to see the wiper stop switch anymore.
Has anybody got any ideas on why my wipers are behaving like this or why the implausible signal is appearing on the autoscan?
Any help or comments appreciated.
