Scan on 2005 VW Beetle Convertible Hangs on Mobile Device + Popping noise in Radio

When I auto-scan my 2005 VW Beetle convertible on an Android tablet, the scan hangs at 47% when trying to access address 26 (Auto Roof). When I scan it using my laptop using Wi-Fi, it does not encounter any problems.
When accessing the Radio (address 56), I hear a really loud popping noise in all speakers. These pops are randomly pulsating. Is this normal?

See attached log from the laptop:

Can you talk to the 26 directly, not during an autoscan? The radio making some speaker noise when you talk to it is fairly normal, in my experience.

I can talk to group 26 from my laptop over Wi-Fi, but I can not see group 26 on my tablet. The radio pops very loudly. I am worried it will blow the speakers if I keep it in diagnostic mode.

On your tablet, if you write in address 26 manually on the select screen and click [Send], then what happens? Do you have a specific procedure that you are trying to complete on the radio?

It does communicate with the 26 control module on my tablet. However, the Functions button is greyed out. It displays:

    VAG Number: 1YO -
    Component: 4 NBC ue
    Soft Coding: Nil
    Shop Number: Nil

I do not want to do anything specific to the radio. It just pops during the auto scan.

Ok it looks like there is indeed a communication bug with that 26 module. You can try to make a debug log from your tablet like this: [Options] -> Debug level: 001f [Submit], then go back and try to open 26, [Select] -> enter 26, [Send]. Back out of that, and in [View saved files] there should be a debug log you can upload.

Thanks for the feedback. Does it look like the interface reboots when trying to init that module? Watch the leds closely. If not, you can try making a log with debug level 011f.

When accessing module 26, the LEDs are: Left: solid green, one short red blink, solid green (1sec), then it stays solid red until I back out of module 26. It then returns to solid green; Middle: solid green; Right: green Blinking.

I was able to create and upload the debug level 011f file.

Auto-Scan, learn it, love it, live it... then check the fuses.
