    Beg, borrow, or steal another computer to try?

    Edit: Just to do the update, I mean. We've seen a number of cases where firmware won't update on persnickety computers, but VCDS otherwise works just fine on those same machines. Since your interface was shipped this spring, I doubt you've had to do a firmware update previously, right?

    I'll try it on my sons laptop later.don't see why it should make a difference though.once the firmware updates can I use my laptop again?

    Yeah that's correct not had to to firmware b4. Laptop has a fresh install

    So thought I'd try one more time.low and behold it updated. Don't know why but it did. It does crash the laptop sometimes though which is weird

    If your laptop crashes, it really sounds like there are issues with the drivers that Sony provides for USB3...
