    Cannot update HEX firmware

I just updated my VCDs to 15.7.0 and received a message to update the firmware from 1.93 to 1.94. I tried and received an error message of unable to update. Now I can't scan any of my cars.

    Please help.

How old, how new? Does it by chance have a USB 3.0 port? If so, does it also have USB 2.0 ports? If so, please try a USB 2.0 port. Or please try a different PC.

The engineering problems are likely insurmountable. It would be like proposing to land a rocket booster section on a barge floating in the middle of the ocean.

Also what brand/model/speed/OS is your PC? Do you have the interface connected directly to the car and PC while you are trying the update? If you are using an extension cable, try removing it from the equation.

I've been using this PC for 3 years with no problems reading the ECU from several different VWs. Only after I updated version 15.7.0 of VCDS did I start to have problems. I have a Samsung laptop model NP-R540 which runs on real Windows 7.

When I tried the update the hex it was connected to my PC via the USB but not to the car as the instructions said not to connect it to the car.

Please double check the instructions. They say it MUST remain connected to a car. If you unplug from the car, it won't work.

All set. It was a USB port problem. Thanks for your help.
