With the imminent arrival of Windows 10 [and that it's been available for test for some time], is someone able to confirm that VCDS will be able to successfully work with this Windows version?

Thanks & Regards - Julian

We'll only confirm that VCDS Release 15.7 (which is also imminent) will work on Windows 10. :D

Quite a few have been running Beta 15.6 on Windows 10 including the latest versions without any issues. In short, you shouldn't see (m)any issues.

FWIW; I accidentally updated my main/production machine a few hours ago and have been using Windows 10 Pro since. Gotta tell you, I am not disappointed to have switched from 8.1 to 10. On 8.1 I was using StartIsBack+ to fix the crippled Start Menu - guess what? Looks like I can work without that on 10. While I agree with whomever is gonna shout "never upgrade a production system right away", it happened by accident and even so - it works at least as good as before. So Kudos Microsoft. Job well done!

As far as VCDS goes. HEX-NET related functions as well as VCDS itself runs fine w/o any issues I could find. Pretty much confirms the results I have been seeing in the Technology Previews.

How the heck does one update the OS on a machine "by accident"?

It asks you if you'd like to download. I didn't mind the download. ;) Just didn't realize that download meant installation too and due to some other windows update mess (due to a 3rd party driver from a certain German vendor we know) I was dealing with at the time - the abort / status wasn't accessible for some time. Let's just leave it at that, all went good. If it hadn't I would have known who to blame... :p

Release 14.10.2 was published in March.
Beta 15.6.1 was published in June.
Release 15.7.0 will probably be available tomorrow or Friday at the latest.

Sweet! Thinking about upgrading to Windows 10 but wanted to make sure all would be good with VCDS. Awesome!

Nothing really to do with VCDS, but I strongly urge anyone who's installing Windows 10 to pay close attention to review these settings and read this article.
