Greetings chaps,
Just a question ... IF I disable the seat belt CHIME, does it disable the deployment of AIRBAGS as well.
I don't think so, but need confirmation on this PLEASE

Car in question is a 2011 Audi A4 B8 S-line

Thank you in advance

Well, I'm not going to crash-test any cars to find out for sure, but I wouldn't think so. ;)

Seat belt switch and occupancy sensor is connected to airbag module.

Thanks for the response chaps,
My understanding is that the sensors in the seats will trigger the airbags IF the seat is occupied in the event of a CRASH.
The chime is purely a "reminder" to engage the seat belt for safety reasons.

Anyway, as Uwe stated, dont want to crash test car to confirm function of CHIME ..... thus I will enable the CHIME again .....
Uwe and team, thanks for the awesome work u guys do re VAG-COM ....

I have enabled the CHIME again ....via VCDS ..... so all is fine ...

Seat belt switch and occupancy sensor is connected to airbag module.

But disabling the seatbelt chime/reminder has nothing to do with the airbags - Yes, the airbags may not deploy if the seatbelt isn't fasten, but this has nothing to do with the reminder. If you have the Audi Hold Assist (AHA), then this will also not work if you don't have your seatbelt on - but disabling the seatbelt reminder does not affect this functionality.

On models with Isofix on the passenger seat, you'll get a disable button for the passenger airbag - and Yes, this will also disable the seatbelt reminder for the passenger seat - that also make sense.

I haven't claimed that disabling seatbelt reminder will disable airbags. On my MKV, when setting region, for Australia example, the seatbelt reminder will also be disabled, although the separate short coding has the reminder enabled.
