Trying to activate Horn when locking vehicle

It's my first post. I went out and played with the interface a little bit. I adjusted the speed at which the doors lock automatically. I wanted to also activate the HORN when I click the lock button on the key FOB. I went to the VCDS > Elec 1 > Immobilizer (I think)...select from the drop down menu "locking with remote"....0 is none, 1 is lights, 2 is horn, 3 is horn and lights. 1 is already preselected, I push "up" to take it to "2" but the Save button is not able to be selected.

What am I missing?

I don't think anyone can tell you what you're missing without knowing what kind of car you have there, or seeing the control modules that are installed in it and how they are configured. In other words, please post an Auto-Scan. ;)

46-Central Convenience -> Adaptation Channel 10 is "Locking Confirmation (Remote Control)".
0 = OFF
1 = Blink
2 = Beep (Horn)
3 = Both

If "Up" doesn't work, try typing the number you want into the New Value field and use the [Test] button.

okay...so i go to 46 and then 10....I select "2" and the "Save" Button is faded out as pictured below.

Here is the weird part now...I can enter the coding section then click "Code helper" and move over to the actual hexadecimal code and it gives me 4 option for locking:

Remote Lock Lights
Remote Lock Horn
Door Key Lock Lights
Door key Lock Horn

I can disable the light feature entirely so when I hit "Lock" on my KeyFOB I can hear it lock and there is no visual confirmation. When I select the Horn option, I cannot get the Horn to sound
Something is funky indeed

What happens when you click [Test]?

Wait, I'm confused.. You CAN change the value? You've been able to Test and Save 2, so that the Stored Value reads 2 after you've gotten out of 46, cycled the ignition, and then come back in to this same screen?

when I input "2" click "Test" nothing happens..no horn honk nothing

I went into another screen that has the series of hexadecimal values in another screen with options down below...its a step 1 through 4 screen....and each box has options available below the values as you advance through the string. It is from this screen that I can manipulate the option of each hexadecimal in the string that I copy into the other "Do It" screen....it says it has been successfully accepted.

Perhaps this horn honking and many other features are not available on my Convenience Control Module...I am just speculating here

Hmm.. Maybe. Take a look at Byte 10, Bit 7. It should be labelled "Horn Confirmation Configuration blocked"....

It seems that there is no alarm installed in factory, so you can activate the horn option, but you will never hear it ;)

I assumed that the horn would sound from the one on my steering wheel...My B6 has only the Immobilizer..

Normal horn can be used on MQB platform cars. I don't think this will work on B6 Passat, since it uses siren from alarm system and there is no option to change that.
