I have tried doing as you requested, but it still does not let me code the right hand side headlight, it keeps saying "request out of range" and if i remove a zero it says error 31. I don't know what's wrong, i have entered the security number and all, left the car to sleep for 20 minutes locked. What else could be wrong with the afs?

You can't code one headlight or the other. The output subsystems should be coded automatically by the AFS module when you code the main AFS module.

I wonder of the mismatch in software levels between the two output stages has anything to do with this?

I don't know; at this point, I'm speculating.

    Just one more try
I would disconnect the output stage > cycle ignition > read fault codes > ignition off >
connect output stage > ignition > one more coding > 55 with last code (overwrite it / save)
Ignition off > wait > test it

Yeah, we had a few examples of that in the mk6 xenon retrofit thread. I suspect the right side is the issue:

    Subsystem 1 - Part No: 7L6 941 329 B
    Component: AFS-Lst.-Modul l 0004
    Coding: 00000022

    Subsystem 2 - Part No: 7L6 941 329 B
    Component: AFS-Lst.-Modul r X008
    Coding: 00000020
0004 would be a common SWL per the conversation nearby this post.

I contacted my seller, and they are sending me a new slave module for the right headlight with sw 0004, so hopefully that should do the trick. I will let you guys know how it goes, hopefully by the end of the week!

Hi guys i got my slave module for the right hand side headlight, and fitted in, it's the same software coding as the left handside headlight. I managed to code it, and also do basic settings. But i keep getting 3 faults; 01312 powertrain data bus - 004- no signal/communication- intermittent, 02233 - left headlight power stage output stage (j667) 004 - no signal/communication - intermittent and also 02234 - right headlight power stage output stage (j668) 004 - no signal/communication - intermittent. Due to these fault codes the headlight stays down, but when i clear the faults the headlights work perfectly fine, going up, down, left and right. But when i restart the car after 30 seconds, the fault codes come back up and the headlights do not work as it should be.
