Long coding Audi Q7

Hello,
Got the USB hexcan in order to enable remote windows,sunroof and other convenience moda that a brand new 65k car should come with from the factory :mad:

However........
After a week of YouTube and other enthusiasts sites got to the car and realized that the long coding helper I looked at everywhere is actually missing!!!! How can I enable this while while adding and substracting codes doesn't really thrill me

Is something that I miss due to my car or due to the software?

OK, I don't think there's any data missing, it's just that your 09 and 46 modules do not use Long Coding. It seems the modules used in the Q7 have not been updated much since the vehicle was introduced almost 10 years ago.

The coding for your 09 module isn't binary; each decimal digit has separate meaning that's documented. Long Coding Helper will not be of much help with that.

The coding for your 46 module is binary (but short codings are always represented as decimal numbers by the factory tool, and thus by VCDS as well). The fact that it is binary means you can paste into Long Coding Helper and see each bit that's set, like this:

The meaning of each bit is documented in the label file. VCDS will show you that info on the Coding screen.

It sounds very much like your research brough up information relating to the A4 (8K), A5 (8T), Q5 (8R), A6/A7 (4G) and/or A8 (4H) while what you need are instructions for a Q7 (4L) or A6 (4F). The difference being that your car (actually the comfort control module) - like the old A6 - doesn't speak the language that would support the long coding function. Meaning it is not VCDSs fault (or ours for that matter) that the long coding assist is missing, the car uses a short coding which is calculated differently.

So in order to enable that function, recode your comfort control module (#46) from 3569949 to 3570077.

BTW: I have recently added information that will automatically convert the old data and allow you to use the coding assist on modules like this. You will find that in our upcoming Beta 15.6 (yet to be released) if you wish to try it.

Well, that's the official side of things. VW/Audi has not permitted that feature to be factory installed/enabled for those countries.

When you go to [Coding - 07] in [46] you get a yellow help screen with the coding options, or you can also check this coding on the Wiki page.
So now you know you "want" +128 function, then see Uwe's picture in #4.
Okay there is no +128 in your coding, so you can add it to the original coding 3569949
