    Sounds like it was about as dependable as expected, at least. That steering wheel, though! Who would leave a test car like that?

    Those US bumper requirements made a lot of nice/interesting cars really ugly!

    Edit: They drove it in the rain too... it would have dissolved about 3 days after the test finished

    Almost certainly not a turbo, but I remember my 1984 GTI (which was no slouch) getting seriously dusted by the GLHS version of one of these:



    Anyway, when was the last time anybody saw one of these?

    I took that picture today!
    The engineering problems are likely insurmountable. It would be like proposing to land a rocket booster section on a barge floating in the middle of the ocean.
