VCDS-Lite Version: Release 1.2
Control Module Part Number: 4D0 927 156 CP
Component and/or Version: AG5 01L 4.2l5V USA 1414
Software Coding: 00002
Work Shop Code: WSC 02314
VCID: 79856EE770C1
1 Fault Found:
17114 - Gear Ratio Monitoring: Incorrect Gear Ratio
P0730 - 35-00 - -
---------------------------------------------------------------------------
After flushing the gear box twice, I now have the following errors
The engine seems to run normally.
Address 01: Engine Labels: None
Controller: 4D0 907 559
Component: 4.2L V8/5V G 0004
Coding: 06653
Shop #: WSC 12345
VCID: EBA9C4AF8A9D
1 Fault Found:
17549 - Load Calculation Cross Check: Implausible Value
P1141 - 35-00 - -
Readiness: 0000 0000

At this point the car is un-drivable. I would like some kind of procedure to check the valve body or TCM. These two items can be fixed without dropping the transmission which is like major surgery with the A8.
Is it possible that the TCM is not throwing enough current to the shift solenoids? Is it possible the valve body is simply "plugged" and therefore not alloy enough hydraulic pressure to engage the forward friction plates? The car makes a weird noise when engaged in 1 thru 4.
It sounds like it just is not engaging

What year? How many miles? How regularly has the fluid been done previously? (Yes, I know, Audi says it's "lifetime". Bullshit.)

I believe that TCM supports output tests on the solenoids, but I don't see how that's going to help here. I don't think you have an electrical problem here. TCMs are pretty good at identifying electrical problems and flagging them with DTCs.

With 166K on the clock, I would look for a low miles used transmission or a good trans shop.
