I am getting ready to replace back rotors and pads on my 08 Passat for second time and wondering if anyone knows if after retracting the calipers with VAG-COM can you close out of the program and turn the car off?

Last time I put charger on battery and kept car on and VAG-COM open entire time I was working on rear brakes but this time I am thinking about cleaning and painting calipers and carriers.

Hello,

. . . . anyone knows if after retracting the calipers with VAG-COM can you close out of the program and turn the car off?

- Yes, you can retract the EPB motors with VCDS and then back out of the controller and turn off the vehicle's ignition.

- Perform the repair work and then use VCDS to close the EBP motors.

For more information please see this Ross-Tech video.

Hope that helps,
