You would want to check the voltage at the battery and then at the control module(s) in question if using a DVOM however it would be easier to clear DTCs from all of the modules in this vehicle to see which return immediately. A majority are flagged Intermittent and should clear - but I'd run/save/post another scan if you want a second opinion.

Measuring group 002 will show Parking Brake (E538) and Auto Hold (E540) switch feedback in the #53 controller and group 012 will show the on/open off/closed parking brake motor status. You may want to lift the back while checking those to see if the calipers are really on/off when the controller thinks they are.
