Vw caddy van with the radiator fan on all the time once the ignition is on 3 seconds later the fan runs.
I tried another fan unit, i tried another relay for the j329. but no joy, the Engine Ecu has just been replaced with the instrument cluster, but we had the same problem with the old Ecu,, so ecu ok.
disconnected the Rad outlet temp sensor G83 which i believe triggers the fan, The fan still run's. Changed the G83, Still no difference,
This van has one large Radiator only, although my disc shows two fans,, NO Aircon Fitted,, Van is 2008 march build date, pdf i have also shows on engine side of image, coolant temp sender G62 which i think is for the ecu and dash temp and maybe with the other sensor they compare temp for rad speed etc.
The only way to stop the fan is by taking out the fuse SB24 or removing the j329 relay, which does not fix the fault, i thought maybe it was in limp home mode, but looking at the autoscan did not see anything to cause this only Dtc for fan to ground.
Does anyone know if the 2008 has a radiator fan control unit J293 or was this on earlier models only, if it does have one ,,where is it located on the van, i have seen some by the radiator fan itself but there are several variations, Need to eliminate the fan controller if it has one, other than that maybe wiring to ground as something is grounding it all the time it seems.
MVB shows the temp sensor readings correct when cold 9 deg c and duty cycle of fan when on approx 87%.
