Audi MY14 Q5 - auto dimming rear view mirror does not work. Where to start?

Hi Uwe / team - I have a MY14 audi Q5 , in which the auto dimming mirror does not work. No light , nothing when you press the button...I recall it is either red or green.

Is there something obviously linked in VCDS somewhere that i can check - or have I noob'd this somehow with a combo of interior light settings etc?

Any thoughts thanks !

Fuses and power supply, nothing you can do diagnostic wise.

Would this not be covered by the manufacture's warranty if this was a failure?

It most certainly is - after a call to Audi today this is a common issue with the same part on A5's etc too. I'd thought I would scratch a head or two here before taking a day off work to get it looked at and fixed :0)
