Where is the channel 16?
[Select]
[01-Engine]
[Adaptation-10]
Put '16' (w/o the quotes] in the channel number box,
[Read]

After a few seconds, there should be an info balloon that explains more.

Not sure if your car supports but see if your car supports basic setting tests.

If it does.......... check each block for a test and do it. 0-255 to check.

Log them if you like....

There should be a whole bunch of calibration tests to do in adaption that can also be done if not in basics.

0x01-10- pull down menu and select documented tests.

Probably just needs to be driven to show the readiness tests are all completed.

Don't be fooled by what VCDS may state in readiness test screen as passed because it is absolutely possible that the other readiness tests may have not passed in OBD2 side of tests.

Easy enough to check in VCDS .......... just use the OBD2 test side of VCDS and review the completions.

Most likely a CAT test is the longest to complete. This test needs a good hot run in a lower gear selected to keep the RPM's up and about 30 miles worth of driving.

Im sorry jack but im not entirely sure where you are talking about. I have looked in both "basic settings" and "Long Adaptation" and i do not see what your talking about. Sorry still a little new to the VCDS. Could you please help me a little more. Thank you so much

Okay

Please go into engine 01 and then security access 16 ........login if needed with login stated in caption window.

Then go to 10 adaption and pull down the needed menu for the tests of the PTF.

Hopefully that helps?

Please advise of new logs of DTC's and tests in 01 and OBD2 readiness values.

Wanna do a remote session?

Did you do what the info balloon suggested?

I'm also scratching my head wondering how it's possible that the DPF light is still on since you're saying you have no fault codes. Please post a current Auto-Scan.

I went to engine 01, the security access 16 (I entered the code 12233 so i can get into long adaptation) i tried to go to channel 10 and it says it doesnt exist. I looked through the drop down menu and i did not see any options for a test. How would we go about a remote session

Well you will need to go investigate/unstick the EPCV in the exhaust and lube it up.

Make sure it is clean and lubed. Exercise it.

Then clear DTC and retest.

Sounds like contaminates made there way to the butterfly possibly.
Just a speed bump!

On a positive note.......of progress...

When i had the dpf out i worked the heck out of the exhaust flap to make sure it would work properly. Would that cause the Dpf light to be on?

I'm fed up with this car... I doubt that flap will cause the dpf light to stay on

It will .............

The flap controls exhaust back PSI for EGR and PTF control.

Trust me.......... at least clear the DTC and run the basic settings/adp tests over and over to free it up.

I know this is all a PITA to do but it must be done.

When i had the dpf out i worked the heck out of the exhaust flap to make sure it would work properly.

Might stick open when hot.

It does not throw an engine light, just the dpf light. When i try to clear the code it just sows back up right away. It flashes off the reappears (in VCDS)

I think you should check all fuses in the car one at a time if there is no power/ground at EPCV.

To familiarize.

Okay lets have a look at WD for J623 ( ECU ) and J883 ( flap ) and share's tracks via D110 and D111 to the PSI sensors ( G450 and G451 )

Lets have a look at likely required inputs in WD SB13 25 amp since its a load consumer from the BOX ( fuse holder B in engine bay ) feeds from star gate current track 46 to destination star gate off world current track 72 ( D182 ) At ECU J623 T94/3....5 and 6.

We know we have J317 cause it runs ( D78 ) Terminal B+ 30 ref.
We also know we have J682 ( A41 )

Nevertheless check SB10 and SB24 while there all others.

Right......? Did you check for voltage at the flap and ground?
Lets do that and verify you didn't bend any pins or is the connector maybe loose?

Look with light for bent pins or magnifier glass......don't laugh I have to now.

The exhaust flap will not interfere with a DPF regen. it will cause a check engine ( MIL) light.

my flap failed last month, and I drove on a couple 500 mile trips, with the check engine light on, and watched several regeneration cycles.

I put a new valve in, (did not want to mess around with cleaning and such) I would be happy to send you my old one for shipping. (if it turns out you need it. it is stuck, but worked fine)

There was a fella at another site who had a dpf light from failed sensor, and the dpf light stayed on a while after he fixed the sensor, and had a few regen cycles.
Have you seen a regneration since cleaning and reassembling? you might want to drive it a while and log some values to see what is going on.
