Hi can anyone help I’m working on a Audi A4 2.0 tdi 2005 the brake lights are on all the time
Even with the ignition turn off . In live data it says the brake light switch is on permanent . Changed the brake switch still same fault I’m thinking it the wiring between the brake pedal switch and the ecu
? Thanks Simon

Simon, I corrected a brake light issue on my Audi A4 2.0 2006 several weeks ago. When car was on, activating the turn signal the lights flashed on and off quickly. I removed the right rear light assembly and discovered a short at the connector to the light assembly. Upon looking at the light assembly, I found additional areas where I noticed a few burn marks. In short, replaced the entire assembly and fixed the issues. I use some conductive grease when reconnecting. Not sure if that helps or not, but it might be at the light assembly.

In live data it says the brake light switch is on permanent.
Which module are you seeing this in?

You should get wiring diagrams and check exactly how the brake light switch is wired in this car.
