Uwe: not sure what your experience has been, but in a previous life looking after a Capital city's electricity infrastructure here in Oz, the observation from users that emergency equipment was faulty invariably came after the emergency event. Of course, the appropriate time for such findings should happen long before event - and that's the purpose of routine maintenance testing!
It might have been the case that the pump capacity was insufficient for the size of the deluge - but this shouldn't cause the pump to fail. I assume that Ross-Tech pays the building owner handsomely for the privilege of printing the address on your letterheads. I hope said building owner was suitably contrite?
