Hi,

My car equiped with the HP8 ZF transmission won't go in gear/move when the seat belt is not engaged. Is there a way to disable this in vcds?

For context, there's an Auto-Scan from what is presumably this car here.

Personally, I have never heard of a VAG car behaving that way.

What do you mean by "won't go into gear"? Is it locked in Park?

It keeps the handbrake on and won't move, even though the trans is in D.

Can you release the handbrake with the handbrake control in the center console, if you also apply your foot on the service brake?

Refusing the release the handbrake automatically is expected/normal behavior without the seatbelt fastened.

Ok, but this behavior cannot be removed?

Not that I am aware of.

I have edited the title of this thread. At this point it seems fairly clear that the issue isn't that the car won't go in gear, but that the EPB won't auto-release unless you have your seat belt on.
