    Different versions of HEX NET?

    Hi

My workplace just bought a HEX NET directly from Ross Tech, as an upgrade from their HEX CAN USB. I was so impressed that I have bought my own. I bought mine from a UK distributor (Gendan), as it didn't incur delivery and import fees.

Seeing them side by side, I noticed that the work's interface had a quality cable that screws into the interface, and also a Ross Tech tie around the cable. Mine, however, seems to have a thinner, lower quality cable, no tie, and the interface doesn't have a screw hole to secure a cable. My serial number is HN1-006***, the work's one is HN1-011***, so I'm assuming mine is older.

Are there any other differences? Is my interface inferior in any way? I don't mind the cable, but I don't want an interface that is out of date from day one.

    Thanks,
    Garry

Correct, yours is older. But the internals are the same.

Shells changed around the first of the year to accommodate the screw-lock cables that were introduced around one year ago with the HEX-V2.

The engineering problems are likely insurmountable. It would be like proposing to land a rocket booster section on a barge floating in the middle of the ocean.
