What do you mean by "cylinder balance"?

The procedure in your link doesn't seem to involve a scan-tool.

If you are asking whether it's possible to disable a cylinder temporarily using a scan tool, as far as I'm aware, VAG ECUs do not have a provision for that.

-Uwe-

"In some cases, you can also use the scan tool to; command the (PCM) to perform an automatic power balance test; and report the results right on the scan tool. As a result, On most newer vehicles, using the scan tool is by far the best method; of performing a power balance test."

VCDS can only do things that a control module has provisions for and I've never seen (or at least noticed) anything like that in the data for any VAG ECU.

It's a powerful test and is supported by BMW from which I have some experience. I'd be surprised that this feature is not supported by VAG. How else would they do this?

It is supported on a few controllers, but not much used.
If your (OP) controller in Audi A2 support it, we don't know, you have not posted your Autoscan yet.
