Hi all, first post on here, go easy with me!
Car has come to me from another garage, v157 fault code, ignition based, it’s had a new flap motor already, loom checks out good and an overlay loom tried too. I’ve had the ecu tested (ok apparently, though I’m questioning it) fuses all good, am I missing something glaringly obvious? anyone had this before? Thanks

Battery voltage is getting low as I’ve been looking at it this afternoon, can’t get it near my charger til tomorrow but that v157 code has been there throughout.

I keep a fair number of OE plugs in stock, made up a 4pin for this, took the throttle body up to the ecu box, pin 1 to earth, pin 2 from the wire bundle (red/blue) at the15a fuse, managed to de-pin 3 from the ecu connector, pin 4 I unfortunately had to cut and join.
I have a bkd Seat Leon here, very similar flap motor (not checked the wiring diagram yet to confirm 4 pins go to the same places) but with key off engine off, I have around 12v at each connector pin, On the offending Audi pin 1&2 is 12v, pin 3/4 from ecu showing nothing.

I have continuity on all 4 wires, And seemingly low resistance, will try a 55w bulb today for load checking on the ecu wires.

Load tested both ecu wires, both light up a 55w bulb and show 11.9v, battery currently at 12.5v. To me it’s looking like the ‘tested ok’ ecu clearly isn’t 🤔

Feeds to ECU + grounds checked too, did you isolate ECU zones or qualify with decade box?

Feeds and grounds checked. I don’t have a decade box, unfortunately the customer as had to have the car back, it’s coming back in a few days. The original problem apparently was the dpf isn’t regenerating, other garages have fired parts at it to no avail but past experience shows with this code present it fails a regen anyway. It’d be nice to fix it for him, I’m now considering a plug/play ecu I’ve found online or even an engine loom, though the tests check out ok maybe there is a rub through somewhere, this is the loom that’s foam insulated across the bulkhead that you can’t unwrap.

Did you load test the wires yet on feed side?

Do faults clear if you unplug engine bay side of ECU?

Only load tested from the ecu to the v157, can’t recall clearing the codes with engine bay side disconnected. Daft thing is the flap works and does it’s job when you switch the engine off etc, but with this stored code it’s not allowing the dpf to regenerate
