TT 8N CCM problems

So my dads ccm recently packed up on his 2001 tt 8n 225 roadster, he bought a 2nd hand unit everything now works again apart from the remote central locking.
ive been into locks and read channel 00 and reset the ccm then gone onto channel 21 and set the value to 1 and hit test. but when pressing the button on either remote (he has 2) it dosent change to recognized?

Are you certain that 8N7-962-267-E is the correct module for this car? Some of that vintage simply don't support remotes, and even ones that do operated at different frequencies depending on the market they were sold in.

PS: Is the system you're using registered in your dad's name?

The only difference with the module was his was a b version not e but apparently this is just a superceded version. And yes it is registered in his name because the company i purchased it from couldnt find my address so wouldn't sell it to me

I'm not sure what "apparently" means in this case. Have you've verified this in a proper parts catalog?

If you can find the PR codes for the car (usually in the manual and in the boot) check the 5Dx code - is it 5D1 or 5D2?

5D1 = 433.92MHz
5D2 = 315MHz
