2012 Jetta Sportswagen TDI

Plugged in the HEX-V2 into my 2012 TDI and it registered my VIN, but the VCDS states it is not compatible and does not read the OBDII gateway codes. Am I doing something wrong or is the TDI not supported? If not supported, then why did it register the VIN?

No Auto-scan. Just stated the Gateway is not supported.

The car is definitely supported. Something is wrong there. Let's start with the most basic items:

Is your ignition on?

If so, what is the exact result when you click [Options] -> [Test]?
