VW PASSAT CC IMMOBILIZER ACTIVE ERROR

when active the car will not start.

I notice the central Electric has 1 fault code 01044 found, however i am not sure if it is responsible for the car not starting at times.

The immobilizer in this car is physically part of the Central Convenience module.
You can see that they both have the same hardware part number: HW: 3C0 959 433 AR

How often does this problem occur?

"01176 - Key 008 - Implausible Signal" can be caused by a bad reader coil, or a poor connection between the module and the coil.

Car this old I'd over lay the D2 or consider immobilizer removal in engine ECU.

Stabilant 22a should be applied to connection's.

I don't know for sure but it sounds like you are having a security issue. I don't have security issues experience with Jettas, but you may need to purchase a new computer and flash the SKIM before removing old computer. I don't know if VCDS offers this service, if not you will have to buy even more expensive software. There is also the option of buying a computer with a deleted SKIM. Don't know if this is exact
my your issue but something to consider especially if you are stuck in a no start.

my your issue but something to consider especially if you are stuck in a no start.

VW is not Dodge or Chrysler and do not have SKIM.
They have immobilizer system which can be programed with out flashing ECU/Immobilizer system , and his car is Passat not Jetta .

I had the same issue today with my passat b6 2010, showed immobilizer active and didn't run. This is the 2nd time, 1st was since 3 months. I had my spare key at home which luckily wasn't far. Even after trying the spare key didn't run. I took the battery leads off and waited then connected them, the car ran with the spare key. I tried then the other key got the error again. Repeated the battery thing and ran the spare key and took the car home. I then tried the 1st key it ran fine. Do you have an idea where the problem could be? P.s I'm in the middle east and the car was left in the sun. Could it be because of the heat?
How could I point where the problem is?

I had the same issue today with my passat b6 2010, showed immobilizer active and didn't run. This is the 2nd time, 1st was since 3 months. I had my spare key at home which luckily wasn't far. Even after trying the spare key didn't run. I took the battery leads off and waited then connected them, the car ran with the spare key. I tried then the other key got the error again. Repeated the battery thing and ran the spare key and took the car home. I then tried the 1st key it ran fine. Do you have an idea where the problem could be? P.s I'm in the middle east and the car was left in the sun. Could it be because of the heat?
How could I point where the problem is?

Fault status. 01101000

Possible that key malfunction time to time.

As (the late) Jack referred to above; D2 is the immobiliser pick-up coil that goes round the ignition barrel. There’s a small 2-pin connector on it, most have gold flashed contacts but because the signal to/from the key is tiny, microscopic contamination on the contacts will attenuate the signal.

Sometimes unplugging and re-plugging the connector a few times is sufficient to clean the contacts, but a squirt of isopropyl alcohol or contact cleaner won’t harm.

I’ve also seen immobiliser coils that have a one piece moulding at the coil, but the same can be said about the contacts of where the coil plugs in to.
