07 Audi A4 2.0 misfire

Not long ago I learned about the cam follower issue the hard way.I ended up replacing the intake cam, hpfp, cam follower,
cam position sensor & while I was in there I did the timing chain, tensioner & coolant flange. I got it back together
ran great sounded good & about 2 days later got P000A code so I parked the car and did some research and found out I
should have replaced the 3 ring seals inside the timing cover so I pulled the timing cover found the old rings laying
in there broken re-checked my timing marks installed new ring seals fired it up code gone ran great.The next morning
misfire code #2 cyl I switched coils between cyls plugs were new and switched them around misfire stays with #2 cyl did
compress check all cyls @ 200 psi. I bought VCDS I have not driven the car looking for advice and direction and help with VCDS

Hi Spikes,

At what speed/rpm or engine cold/warm conditions does this misfire occur? If the misfire occurs only during cold start, most likely you have fault injector probably throwing too much fuel into cylinder. Use VCDS in MVB 15 to take some readings under the mentioned conditions and post results.

thanks for the input and that is the path I'm heading down every time I pull the plug it is wet with fuel its not a misfire more like a no fire I am in the process of pulling the intake, rail & injectors and while I am
in there I can see what my carbon build up looks like for now i will swap injector with another cyl and see if the problem moves
again thank you for your time and input and I will let you know what I find

got the manifold off and removed the injectors and measured resistance (i know they were cold no load etc got to start somewhere) cyi #1 inject=2.3, #2=2.7, #3=2.0, #4=2.3
everything loaded with carbon, when i was checking the valves @ #2 there was just an odd formation of carbon maybe 1/8" right where the valve seats at first i thought wtf it looked
like a soft piece of metal that got smashed under the valve I spent all day cleaning scraping chipping what should the normal resistance be for these?

Test values should always be ascertained in the RTFB...........

Just curious if you see the correlation to misfire to measured range difference in your observations?

Ever cook up some injectors on covered outdoor stove top in simmered boiling distilled water for an hour & mixed with easy off and than transfered while still warm after cooled in a soaked until AM oil marinate for breakfast engine brunch?

There's fume-free variety (blue label as opposed to yellow) but I suppose it's probably somewhat less effective.

Did anyone say to stand around and breath in and can't chemicals be applied without a sprayer or used with safety devices such as, goggles, gloves, face shield and apron etc. unless making a political point to work it all hot and dangerous, at this point isn't that equipment available pretty widespread, with no excuse to work safe?

had to get away from the car for a couple days anyway got put back together i put new fuel injector in cyl#2 last nite start up
ran great took it out ran really good put my foot in it and it took off smooth and power went back home
it was getting late i said finally fixed yeah well that was last nite today started up right out the gate misfire
now cyl#1 swapped plugs coils nothing changes plug is wet with fuel same problem different cyl
should have used the easy off

got the sled back on the road again 4 new fuel injectors a couple shots of easy off and its running better than it ever has now i just have to figure out why now my cooling fan does not come on
