Hello Ross tech, I have a question hope someone can help me.

I need to replace an ecm on a: 2009 Audi, 2.0L, VIN: WAZZZ8K79A008043. Based on the ecm chasis stickers, how can I find the perfect match (replacement) for it?
I've seen good used ecm in ebay (allegedly) I'd like to give it a try before investing money in a new module. thats why i need help. how can I choose the equivalent module?

this is the ecm pics for your considerations.

this is the car prcode tag

is this ecm from ebay a match? if not, how can I tell?

any comment is wellcome
thanx in advanced for all your help and time.

Moving to General VW/Audi Repair.

So the original is: 03L-906-022-BE.
The contemplated replacement is a 03L-906-022-B.
Both claim to be for a CAGA engine, so they're close.
I would suggest looking them both up in a proper parts catalog such as Partslink24, to see if the application is the same or different (for example a different model of car, or a different transmission type).

How do you intend to match the replacement ECU to the car's immobilizer?

I'm also puzzled by something. Your stated location matches where you're currently posting from, but the VIN you gave has no business in the US and 8K cars were never sold in the NAR market with TDI engines...

Hello Mr Uwe... thanks. yes 03L-906-022-BE is the original.

I intend to use VAG AVDI...

I live in Los Angeles CA USA, but the car is located in Panama Central America in Panama City.

Yes it is a Diesel engine.

would partslink24 be able to tell by using/input only 03L-906-022-BE?

thanks you Mr Uwe. so, the ecm sticker is not enough conclusive to choose /match up the ecm?

Did you know you may possibly find that it is denied for being re-flashed with an alternate file & even if same engine code?

It may also have an alternate power class designation or address block limitation based on miss matched container or additional seed key lock out for extended virtual OTP areas?

Some EDC17CP14 can come with or without extended flash and be same engine code being incompatible.

Victor can you open yours up "carefully" and post picture of board and sticker showing all part number details from Bosch?

Did you know all ECU's can be put in a state of virgin, however, the OEM knows each FaZit genuine number and if ever used?

Would that not be VAS tester with valid license and which indeed I hold as I advertise?

Yeah we have the ECU with data transfer included for $1500 USD + core in advance and $50 USD freight in USA.

Certified funds only.

You won't have to marry anything or we could sell in virgin state to be married with your AVDI too outright $1250 USD + freight & no core needed.

You have to know something, those kind of jobs are not to play save all the time looking at $, sometimes you have to invest $ to see will it work, That is the risk you have to take it. I got more then thousand $ investment in Cluster and ECU and other modules to test and find correct solution. That ECU with "B" is relatively cheap around $100-$150,so it is worth of try.

I like Marin's position of risk taking, sometimes it can be rewarding and other times it can be an upside down even more extravaganza!

At least he could learn what not to do later right?

If he did it again later being same mistake, well that would be an entire different event!

https://photos.app.goo.gl/5k4gQTp5zk2WDuaT8

any comments is always welcome.
I totally agree... is just $ (that's depend which part of the world you are in. but yeah. thats why I am giving a try....

We charge here in California $120. per hr for labor
same thing in Central America $35. per hr. up to $45.

$45 is like charging $200 per hr in the 🇺🇸.

please let me know what are your thoughts about it . and again thanks for you time and input.

if this ended up in a not go. I will get it from you.

FYI:dealers in central america cost is $2000. plus adaptions plus labor.

Yikes one day there was a fire!

So no external flash, see the pad set just above TriCore 1796 is blank no chip?

Please tell me Victor did you trace and fix what caused this melt mess so when you change it it doesn't happen again?
