this is my problem I un plugged the dash clocks and plugged in second hand clocks started the car but for got it needed coading pluged the originals back in now I have control module not coded how can I code this now or generate a new code thank you for any help

If you did an Auto-Scan before doing the dash clock swap then VCDS will have saved it in the C:\Ross-Tech\VCDS\Scans folder and you'll see the correct ABS coding there.

If not someone will come along soon with a suggested coding - it may take a few iterations to get it right.

Mk60EC1 coding is a very complicated and vehicle-specific thing. Some people have it mostly figured out, but I'm not one of them.

I cannot believe by taking out the instrument cluster of my car and putting in another and turning on the ignition has caused such catastrophic damage. Do I need to ring up Ross tech in America? Give it to seat or scrap the car

You're not the first person to learn the huge effect of even temporarily swapping the instrument cluster (and won't be the last)... which is why you should always have an up-to-date Auto-Scan saved on your PC (I also save mine on a NAS drive and a cloud drive) from which you can recover coding

Well, regarding the 'i cannot believe', I can try to explain.

There is your physical VIN that preferably should match your virtual VIN.
The virtual vin is simply the VIN stored in some of the modules like the engine and immobiliser.

The virtual vin should match at all times to start the car. Hence the frequent question in these topics 'please post the advanced ID of the immobiliser and engine'.
No match is no starting engine and a lot of misery.

Furthermore, the ABS module will always check the virtual VIN to see if it matches with what the ABS thinks.
The VIN is integrated in the hexadecimal coding of the ABS. If this doesn't match, then the ABS converts its coding to all zeros.
I think it's because of safety, it is simply not sure it is coded correctly and a bad coding can lead to accidents etc etc.

So placing a different and unmatched instrument cluster will disrupt the virtual VIN triangle (ABS, immo, engine) and you'll end up with the ABS uncoded.

Seat has them on their server. If you were to take the car to the dealer, they would connect it to their scan tool, which would in turn query the corporate server for the correct coding for that module in that car.
