How may I enable the subject tweaks on a 2020 Q5 (non-US)?

I recall seeing a msg at some point after receiving my HEX-V2 indicating that I need to open the car bonnet to work on some aspects of the system. Could that be the problem?

Indeed for some latest VAG cars bonnet has to be opened (bonnet switch triggered) to access diagnostic functions.
P.S. Interesting, what is a official dealer's procedure for monitoring/logging data from vehicle in motion...??? :D

For Needle sweep, try coding [17-Instrument] Byte 1 Bit 0

It should not be necessary for any "read" operations such as monitoring or logging measuring values; it generally only blocks "write" operations.

Thanks, Uwe.

Should I try again with the bonnet open?

Update:
I was able to successfully "accept" coding changes with the bonnet open. I activated the gauge "sweep" & it works. It is still bit 0 but has a slightly different label.

Note: I subsequently reversed a coding change with the bonnet closed.

I think once the hood has been opened and you've done something that requires write access, write access will remain available for a period of time (or miles?) even with the hood closed again...?
