Using VCDS to check for bulb status?

Is it possible to use VCDS to check for any blown/faulty bulbs?
Obviously the warning appears on the dashboard, but takes a few seconds to cycle through, and both my low beam and high beam show on the dashboard as 'Dipped' and does not differentiate between the two sadly.
It would be handy to be able to work in the engine bay with a laptop which I can keep an eye on whilst im working on the electrics.

When you do an Auto-Scan do the bulb failures show up as fault codes?

Remember VCDS is a diagnostic system that can only report as much information as the VAG firmware reports, if that doesn't report any more detail then the answer to your question is no.

I sold my B7 RS4 back in 2016 so I can't remember how detailed the bulb failure warning reports were - sorry

P.S. It ALWAYS matters what model and year - as in every other field change is normal so there is (almost) never one single answer that applies to all VAG vehicles!
