SQ5 electric boot

Hello all, new to the forum and quite new to VCDS. I bought an Audi SQ5 ‘15 plate that didn’t have the electric boot option fitted. I had it fitted by a retrofit outfit and all works well except that the boot lid doesn’t open fully. When I go into 6D, 10 (adaptations) I can change the value of the up position and the boot lid opens to the new height. However after about 2 minutes it reverts back to its original setting(value). I have spoken to an Audi tech and he seems to think that the motor needs to learn it’s upper limit. Now when I go into 6D trunk electric the basic settings bar/option is greyed out and unavailable, why is this? Do I need to put in a security access number to enable this feature, if so what is it? No numbers come up when I hover over the input section.

I don't have any documentation for Basic Settings in this module.

There is an Adaptation Channel (01) that looks to be an "Opening Stop" with a range of 150 to 400. Have you checked what's there?

Yes, so the setting there is 345, this doesn’t open the tail gate fully. I Am able to change this to 400, test and save and the lid opens to the desired height. However after about 2 minutes it then reverts Back to 345.

Is 400 maybe too much, how about trying say 375?

Anything above the pre set 345 reverts back. Why is the basic settings tab greyed out? I ask this as I’m under the assumption that in this section I would be able to tell the motor it’s upper limit

Did the retrofitters also change the hatch shocks? The electric hatch has different, less powerful, shocks.

The basic hatch motors are shared across some Audi and VW models and the same issue can be found on the Passat B6/B7.

If you mean holding the boot close button till the lights flash then yes I’ve done that but it doesn’t store the new height

Hi,
unfortunately i cannot help you with your boot issue - unless you want me to test something on my Q5 TDI (2014). I noticed that your BCM log shows AFS modules - do you have the adaptive lights and if yes do they have cornering lights installed inside the headlamp as well? I have a very similar setup and have trouble getting the adaptive headlights to work ...

Just like to put an end to this thread. Went back to the guy who fitted the electric tail gate for me today and it turned out that he hadn’t secured one of the motors into place Meaning the last bit to lift the boot lid the motor was just spinning in place. A couple of brackets later and it now opens fully.

From what i understand when you open rear lid manually adjust it to fully angle and press the close button of the lid for 3 sec you will see they blink 3 times
