I have a problem with design decision that was implemented with in-car embedded Wi-Fi in my 2019 Q7: the Wi-Fi goes off with ignition off. It may have a delayed off, but it makes same difference to me. I need it to stay on permanently. I would like to know and I really hope that with help of VCDS, the power of the Wi-Fi can be controlled and changed. Does anyone have any knowledge and/or experience with it? Any help would be appreciated.

VCDS can only change things that the manufacturer made a provision to be changed.

I rather doubt there's a provision to leave the in-car WiFi on permanently because doing so would surely deplete the vehicle's battery relatively quickly.

At most it would be able to be kept on until the battery management system shuts everything off -approx 16 mins after key off with a good battery. There is no way around that
