Audi A3 8PA 2009 1.8 TFSI 3DR ABS problem

hi guys, this is my first post so bear with me. My Audi A3 had an abs light and the problem was the abs module, my old one was from VW so it had a part number miss match, the mechanic tried to code it but it turned out the abs module was also faulty, i went onto partslink24 and found a matching one, the new module has been installed but the lights are still on, do i need to code this unit aswell?

We'll need to see a full unedited VCDS Auto-Scan of your A3 to be able to comment whether that is a suitable replacement ABS module.
