Please plug it into your Golf 7 and tell/show us exactly what you get when you do [Options] -> [Test].

Also tell us what other cars you have tested it on.

"CAN: Testing" is not good. That's an indication it can't communicate with your car's gateway.

If it does this in multiple cars that are new enough to have CAN gateways, you may have a defective interface.

Yes the audi and polo from 2011, and 2009, so you think its the Hex v2 itself?

If it's the same in all of these cars, then I would guess so.

I have sent an e-mail to your distributor with a link to this thread. I suggest you contact him too. I am confident he will make it right for you.

Hi Jerry,

I replied to your e-mail with one last suggestion (debug level 1024) before you send the interface to your distributor.

Best,
Dana

I also see that from the 16 port,(hex v2 interface) the 2 in the mid or sticking out and the rest of the 14 or on the same place/angle..is this how it should be?

Yes that is correct, that it is Ground / Negative pins.

They are purposely longer so that when you plug in, they are the first to make contact. They are longer so that when you unplug, they are the last to make contact. The electronics in the interface are always at the ground (-) potential of the vehicle so nothing in the interface gets zapped!

Thanks for debugging. When you have a moment please send the resulting files located in C:\Ross-Tech\VCDS\Debug for review. If they don't reveal the problem we will let you know so you can move forward working with your distributor.

Yes. Registration data is stored in the cable itself, so it does need to be registered.
