The admap I made as well as the auto-scan were before he did anything, a friend of mine told me it was for good practice so I did it. Apparently the dongle never changed green so I believe (hope) it didn't do anything, and the lamps basically don't work at all just low beam and dipped to the grond (per leveling system) no blinkers, no DRL's no nothing just low beam.

sam: hmm............ I suspect that the values in the admap that you posted may dash your hopes about the kufatec dongle because the 2 x front turn signal Leuchte-sets and the 4 x Leuchte-sets for the DRLs on your admap are ALL set for LED operation

You have said that the car had halogen headlight fittings originally- so I would have expected the Lasttyp channels on these Leuchte-sets to reflect incandescent lamps.

sama: OK: I'm not sure how the harness handles cars which previously had LED DRLs, or what the Leucthe programming expects for these lamps. The equipment may be expecting Leutche sets for incandescent DRLs - so you might need to "down-grade" the TFL Leuchte-sets to bog-standard incandescent settings(I'm guessing, of course)

The only kufatec document that you sent that I believe is of value is in German and it is locked - so I can't translate it. But as I understand - the instruction says to connect pin#14 on the new headlights to BCM pin #B23 (Left side) and pin #B22 (Right side). These 2 x BCM pins are controlled by the Shutter Leuchte-sets which are not enabled on your BCM because you previously had Halogen Lamps

At least for the high-beam function, perhaps try enabling these Leuchte-sets - here are the factory settings:

Again, I'm just guessing because the German document isn't clear (or it is clear to someone who can read German) but if you need to enable the 2 x Shutter Leuchte-sets, the new fittings might expect that BCM is programmed in HID/LED headlight mode- I'm not sure.

The primary software switch for this used to be in Byte 2, Bits 0-2, but your BCM has a zero code-string - so the pertinent adaptation channel is:
ENG141650-ENG141973-Fernlicht_assistent-Erweiterte_Fernlichtsteuerung .
Your current setting for this channel is Basis which is correct for incandescent fittings. You might need to select one of the other allowable settings for this channel if just enabling the Shutter Leuchte-sets doesn't work (again, I'm guessing)

Yes, newer cars have 4B multifunction module that controls the lights. I have 2017 Tiguan which still has 55. Both work and according to some here, 55 is easier to retrofit and code than 4B. And yes, I have DLA headlights, not the basic type leds.

Don I tried to do as you advised, I also changed the parameters on ENG141650-ENG141973-Fernlicht_assistent-Erweiterte_Fernlichtsteuerung tried all of them and no luck, shutters are not working :-( I paste here the map data after the changes and will include any changes that the kufatec dongle might have made.

vastechnics: I share your confusion! If you are able to read German language, perhaps OP could send you the Kufatec installation instructions. As I have said, it's locked - so I can't parse the text into an English translation app.

But subsequent to your question above - I was able to search the document for both "55" and "4B".

Search results:
  • no hits for 55,
  • one hit for 4B - I had to physically retype the German words into an English translator to give this:

Clearly, from this search process, the answer to your question is that there is a hex4B module contemplated in the Kufatec installation instructions! However, a single hit for the search vector "4B" and the accompanying reference to CP in the extract suggests that the conditions for the hex4B module might not apply for a simple headlight re-fit (I'm guessing)!!

A review of the Kufatec document by a German reader would shed more light (pun intended) on the matter - I think

Also -again from the kufatec document - here is the cross-wiring instructions for the 14 x pin headlight connector:

IMO, it's not at all obvious that the harness contemplates entirely OEM fittings!!;)

Are you using the 080 series headlights? If I see post in first page i think yes. These headlights are fully canbus controlled. So the: DRL, side light, blinkers, highbeam and AFS are fully canbus controlled by the 55 (or 4b) 29 39 D6 D7 modules. If these modules are not triggered then nothing will happen. As per wiring need connection like this:

14 pins headlight left (as per 55 module):

1 - CAN-high - T26/4 on 55 module
2 - CAN-low - T26/5 on 55 module
3 - not used
4 - ignition plus (SC36)
5 - ground
6 - main beam T73b/5
7 - ground

I am not near the car and beside there is weekend lockdown here 😔.

I will start by pasting the recent auto-scan you requested. I believe the headlamps are 080 per the part numbers I took from the headlamp. I think as you already pasted the module 55 wiring lets go with that one.

As I can see gateway is high so that is good. That means it support Canbus Extended. Now you come to the other part. That is installing the 55 of 4B module. You going for the 55 right then this are the connections on the T26 connector on the 55 module.

2 - Canbus-extended High goes to T20/17
3 - Canbus-extended Low goes to T20/7
4 - Canbus headlight High goes to T14/1 on headlight
5 - Canbus headlight Low goes to T14/2 on headlight
7 - Goes to Headlight range sensor on back axle T4/1
10 - Goes to Headlight range sensor on back axle T4/3
11 - Goes to Headlight range sensor on back axle T4/4
23 - Goes to BCM T46b/23
24 - Ground

If the number is not called it's unused. After all this is connected the right way. Coding does the magic for all.
