I recently installed a MFSW from an '08 GTI along with the steering control module. After doing this I was having issues with my cruise not working as expected. I could only set it by using the accelerate button and holding it down as the set button did not work. The dash light for cruise would turn off and on when I push pulled the lever.
I thought the issue might be my car had the 2 lever cruise/turn and the donor car had a single lever. I swapped to the single lever. Everything works except the cruise. Also the on/off switch does NOT trigger the dash light.
I am getting a P1698 error. I double checked my coding and it looks correct but please double check me. Additionally when I measure block 006 (Engine Control) I do not see any change in field 4 when I manipulate the cruise buttons. However when I do this from the steering wheel module 016 I do see it change when I press accell/decell and a brief change when I change off/on. Oddly the block for on/off remains OFF.
