2008 VW Rabbit 2.5L with Multiple Fault Codes (ABS related?)

Hello everyone,
First post for a problem with my Son's 2008 Rabbit. The instrument cluster lit-up like a Christmas tree with multiple lights on the first drive after sitting for a few weeks. The yellow steering wheel, ABS, and BRAKE lights are on along with the engine symbol. I replaced the L/F wheel speed sensor with no change to the faults. We're suspecting the ABS module, but are not sure. Thanks so much for the assistance!

Yup, looks like it's all due to the ABS being off-line. It's certainly possible the ABS module has failed, but I'd check/verify all connections (especially power, ground, CAN bus) before condemning it.

Did you know that If the ignition switch isn't working correctly, it can effect the ABS in some cases and if an S contact error exists or any fault in the switches circuit usually trouble is right around corner or connected by a mechanical defect in switch or harness evading the scope of diagnosis via OBD?

No matter what did you know if a fault is present it should be investigated for harness and actual switch, in addition to checking inputs as you aforementioned at module?

It has been a long time of history repeating itself back to Corrado and Passats same similar TSB where no codes or communication and in end it was ignition switch?

I bet you are thinking hey the S contact isn't related if I review WD but that doesn't matter if faults can hide now isn't it?

An ignition switch and mini harness are pennies in comparison to an ABS module and it will leave you on side of road.

If it were me I'd start with fuses and voltages at module but since they just got the car I'd rectify the switch condition!

Thanks very much for the great guidance! I've taken a good look at all related fuses, and a visual inspection of the under-hood wiring harnesses and have found no obvious issues yet. My next step today will be to replace the ignition switch. Jack makes perfect sense that even if it's not related to this problem, it's cheap/easy and it has a fault that could evolve into a tow truck ride in the future. After that, I'm hoping someone might give me some pointers on how to check the ABS module voltage signal and ground path. I've not been able to find a VW factory service manual, and rely on an aftermarket manual. What I can't find in this manual is what pins to probe on the ABS module electrical connector for voltage and ground path, and what state the car needs to be in (key on/running?). After that, probably an ABS module, but the big question is with no communication with the existing ABS module, how do I document it's coding to replicate on the replacement module? Thanks again for the great advice!
