Hi all,
I have recently swapped headlights from US BiXenon to AFS BiXenon with cornering lights. I am now stuck with the following:
- Error in the dash 'Audi adaptive headlight error'
- headlights do not level. The do the dip when engine starts but not sideways. When I raise the back of the car the headlights do not adjust
- Cornering light does not work
- Some features inhibited due to CP on the BCM
This was the extent of the retrofit so far:
- 2 new Headlights with the AFS control modules
- Swapped BCM from 8K0 907 063 DH to 8K0 907 063 DJ. (BCM -DH includes J431 which directly control the HL leveling. -DJ communicated with the AFS units and includes the HL washer output.)
- Modified wiring to connect Power and CAN bus comms to headlights and remove BCM control of headlight motors
- Added Headlamp washer system, connected to BCM
The new BCM was bought used and shows 'Component Protection' - went to the Audi dealer but unfortunately he was unable to remove CP. His statement was that the system would not allow it to program as it found 'hardware issues not allowing the control unit to sync with the vehicle'.
The following are the errors:
02095 - Component Protection Active (shown in BCM and CAN Gateway, the Gateway is original and I guess it is showing the BCM error, correct?)
01539 - Headlights Not Adjusted
005 - No or Incorrect Basic Setting / Adaptation
02658 - Power Output Stage for Left Headlight (J667); Incorrectly Coded
02659 - Power Output Stage for Right Headlight (J668); Incorrectly Coded
The other errors seem to be irrelevant.
I have confirmed that the cabling is correct (the BCM lists the AFS modules as submodules and lights are working, except the cornering lights).
I have seen other scans that have successfully removed CP when matching the DJ BCM with my CAN Gateway on a similar age Q5.
I am unable to adjust the Headlights - when I enter Basic Settings and select 'Headlight Adjustment' it comes back with 'Wait' and 'N/A'.
The scan below also shows some HVAC errors which I have deleted in the meantime.
Any assistance on how to proceed would be much appreciated.
